Making the Most of Each Day: Tips for Optimal Learning
To get the most out of Speak like a Mexican’s Spanish immersion program in Mexico City, it’s important to be fully engaged and open to learning. Here’s how you can make the most of each day of the program:
Day 1: This is the day to get acquainted with the program and assess your Spanish level. Be sure to ask any questions you may have and take notes during the walking tour to help you remember the new vocabulary and cultural insights you’ll be learning. Engage in conversations with locals as much as possible to practice your Spanish and get comfortable speaking it in a real-world context.
Day 2: Use this day to really focus on expanding your Spanish vocabulary. Take notes during your Spanish lesson and try to use the new words and phrases when ordering tacos and chatting with locals. This is also a great opportunity to practice your pronunciation and listening skills. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes – it’s all part of the learning process!
Day 3: Take advantage of the chance to practice your Spanish in a real-life setting by asking for ingredients and haggling with vendors at the market. Use your Spanish teacher as a resource to help you with any phrases or vocabulary you may not understand. Practice your language skills during your visit to El Moro as well, and try to strike up conversations with other customers while enjoying your churros.
Day 4: Use this day to relax and practice your Spanish in a more casual setting. Chat with locals and other students during your walk down Avenida Amsterdam, and take advantage of the chance to practice your Spanish while taking in the beauty of the neighborhood. Take advantage of any opportunities to practice your Spanish, such as ordering food or asking for directions.
Day 5: This is a day for exploring Mexico City’s historic center, so be sure to fully engage with your Spanish teacher and fellow students. Take notes during the explanations of the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Torre Latinoamericana, and practice your Spanish by asking questions and engaging in conversations with others. Take in the views of the city while practicing your language skills, and don’t forget to have fun and enjoy the experience!
